UPSC ESE Prelims Exam 2017 Cutoff |answer keys|Result Date

Every Year UPSC Coducts Engineering Services Examination (ESE) for ME,CE,EE & EC category branches for Grade A officer recruitment in Railways & other Indian ministries.
It is one of the most popular Entrance Test for Graduate Engineers and this year too UPSC conducted it's Preliminaries on 8th Jan 2017.

This Year UPSC changed the pattern of exam and constituted a two stage pattern with stage 1 as prelims and stage 2 as mains.

Stage 1 consisted a 200 marks portion of General Studies with 300 marks technical MCQ based paper.According to students General studies portion was challenging as it was all new and no slandered books or lecture notes were available to students.
GS paper were consisted of engineering drawing and project management related topics which students find very difficult to answer them properly.
Various institute such as Made easy , Ace have provided the answer keys for respective branches and are sure that the cutoff this year will go down as the pattern is changed and moreover it's a two tier exam .

Cutoff For Mechanical Branch ESE 2017 is expected to remain as :

Gen-220-230
OBC-200-210
SC/ST-160-180

the marks are out of 500 in total and as per UPSC pattern they will shortlist atleast 1:10 ratio of students for Stage 2 mains exam.Those who are getting above the mentioned cutoff marks should start their preparation for Mains examination as it is to be held in june month.

The prelims exam result as scheduled is expected to be out by 10th March 2017.On a counter GATE 2017 examination is approaching and is scheduled on 4th Feb so without wasting time students should focus on the upcoming examination for Jobs in PSU's and admissions in IIT's.
